How big should a rabbit's cage be?

I'm thinking about getting a rabbit, probably a dutch. I want to build a cage to save some money. How big should I build it?How big should a rabbit's cage be?
well a rabbit should be able to take 2 hops forward and two hops back when standing in the middle , also it should be able to stretch out in all directions , and stand on its hind legs without the tips of his ears touching the top . for a single dutch it should be about this big

it must have a run , so it has fresh air and nice lush grass to nibble on.

i would get two dutch rabbits though because they are verry social rabbits , if you get two it should be about this size .

but this would need a bigger sleeping compartment so they can both stretch out in all directions.

hope i helped

Well it needs space for food, water, and maybe a litter box, but it still needs room to run around and play with toys. It depends on the size of the rabbit. Some people say that it's cage should be six times the size of the rabbit. or maybe the play area is that size. Hope this helps!!
big enough for the rabbit to run ad play with toys.

This is the cage my rabbit has.

The smallest ever ever ever would be 100 x 50.

But if I was building one I would like measure the rabbit and time the cage size by like 15 or something.
I'd try for 3 feet x 5 feet.

I agree with Stephany. If at all possible, get 2 rabbits. Rabbits do much, much better when they have a friend. Better be same sex, though!
