My Rabbit has clumps of hair in her cage, but i am unsure if she is pulling it out or if it is falling out?

I let her out ever day, but occasionally when i have been out like tonight i came back to find a hand full of hair in her cage and also it in her mouth there was that much it was hanging from her mouth. Is she pulling it out herself in frustration? or is she just licking it and molting? she is about 7 months old and a very happy bunny! My Rabbit has clumps of hair in her cage, but i am unsure if she is pulling it out or if it is falling out?
Where is the hair from? If she's pulling from her chest/underside, she's going through a false pregnancy (or a real one) and is nesting. She's at the age now where she can and should be spayed (since it sounds like she is a pet). She'll likely get progressively more territorial and possibly even quite aggressive, and she'll go through repeated false pregnancies in her lifetime, which are stressful for her and you. Spaying will eliminate all of that, for the most part (some rabbits will continue being territorail following spaying, but it should help). Plus, spayed rabbits live much longer lives (average of 8-10 years + versus 5 years). This is because rabbits have an 85% rate of preproductive cancer by teh age of 5. It's nearly always fatal since the people who don't spay are the same ones who don't take their bunnies in at the very first sign of illness. By the time a rabbit seems really sick, it's often too late to do anything for them.My Rabbit has clumps of hair in her cage, but i am unsure if she is pulling it out or if it is falling out?
If the coat that she still has left is dull and it is usually shiny, then you can be sure that she is just molting and she will have her hair back to normal soon. Mine do this a couple times a year. I help them out and pull out as much of it as I can that will easily come out. Never tug too hard. If it doesnt just fall out, then it isnt meant to come out. I would try to see if yours is coming out like that. Get as much of it as you can and throw it away. It can be dangerous for your rabbit to be eating that much hair. It can give it digestive problems. So keep it cleaned up out of the cage and each day try to help it by brushing it out.
Seasonally, most animals molt in the summer. My brother's bunny is doing the same thing right now. Have you tried brushing her to see if the hair is loose?
I wouldn't worry about it, since it is summer she is probably just getting really hot. My little sisters Rabbit used to do the same thing.
i have two bunnies and they both do the same thing. I also let mine out too. its just becasue its getting hot and there loosing some fur to keep cool.
