Is the vw rabbit parts compatible with cabriolet and the other way around?

i am looking into buying a 84 rabbit with a blown clutch and a 86 cabriolet with a rusted body can i put the parts from the cabrolet into the rabbit? Is the vw rabbit parts compatible with cabriolet and the other way around?
Hi there, these should be interchangeable parts because the VW Golf (Rabbit) GTi and cabriolet were manufactured with the same DX engine coded 1800cc 8v Bosch K-Jetronic engines.

However, I would never fit a second hand clutch from a donor vehicle. Removing the gearbox from your Rabbit to fit a clutch of unknown and dubious history seems like a waste of time and a big gamble. Better to obtain a new full clutch kit.

In terms of interior and exterior trim, with the exception of the Cabriolet's rear lights and rear boot lid, much of these items and panels are interchangeable; it was after all a Golf minus the tin top! Suspension and exhaust parts may be swapped over without issues.

Given that panels for each vehicle are now deleted from VWs ETKA parts database, even slightly rusted panels may be worth keeping. If they need to be abraded, prepared and sprayed then so be it because you can guarantee that this little effort and expense more than outweighs the option of obtaining poor pattern copies which NEVER fit.Is the vw rabbit parts compatible with cabriolet and the other way around?
They should be! I don't know much about cabriolet but most are!
