I live in a reasonalbly large apartmrnt and I want to get a rabbit. I never had a rabbit before, but I had fish and turtles for a while. So, what kind of rabbit should I get? What kind of rabbit should I get?
We have a small white and grey rabbit. Her name is Hip-Hop and she lives indoors and is very clean. We have only had her for a week or so now and she is already litter box trained. She is very smart. We also have two dogs--a boxer and a terrier--in the house and she does everything they do. She hops on the couch and sits there. If they are lying in the floor then she will. She even plays with them. I was against getting a rabbit at first because everyone told me how nasty and stinky they are, but I htink she is cleaner than most pets. She is constantly cleaning herself. She is so sweet. She loves to sit in our lap and get petted while we are watching tv. I would definatly recommend a rabbit as a pet.....just go to a pet store or a farm supply store--they usually sell them there. Good luck. What kind of rabbit should I get?
I live in an apartment too and i have a male dutch rabbit. I was suppose to get a dwarf rabbit but he got mixed in some how.
Despite what people say, indoor rabbits are VERY clean animals and friendly. My rabbit actually lives in my room. He is in a cage but he is litterbox trained and he gets let out sometimes. You just have to watch out for wires, books, or important papers because rabbits like to chew. His cage does not smell unless it hasnt been cleaned out in a long time and i only have to clean it about once every 1-2 weeks. It really takes less than 10 minutes to clean since he is litterbox trained. He's very smart and comes up to the cage when im near it. If you do get a rabbit though, you have to remember they arnt like fish or turtles (i've had a box turtle and currently have fish too). You have to change your rabbit' s water daily and give him food when his bowl empties. Rabbits also tend to chew anything that gets a little too close to their cage.. and mine likes to make noise at night but it doesnt usually wake me up.
If you do decide to get a rabbit, i suggest a holland lop because those are extremely cute and they are suppose to be super friendly and small. I would also reccomend a dutch rabbit too (you can tell this breed apart because they have a specific fur color pattern).
If you really cant decide i suggest just going to a pet store and picking out a random rabbit, because normally unless you buy the rabbit from a breeder, special place, or KNOW the breed the pet store is wrong about the breed.
Good luck and i hope you find a good rabbit :]
Good rabbits cant just be classified by their breed though, they all have different personalities too just like people.
Rabbits have a tendency to smell, and make a mess. If you live in an apartement don't get one
one of those great big ones from germany
if you want a small bunny get a dwarf hotot rabbit but they can be shy. if u want a normal bunny get a rabbit that is about 5 or 6 inches.i forgot the name.
A Pygmy they are soo cute and funny to see a little ball of fluff hoping around
Before you get a bunny, please visit The House Rabbit Society so you can learn what to expect when owning one of these animals. Rabbits are not easy pets and often get left at shelters after people realize how much work is involved in caring for one.
