Don't clean the cage out yet, leave the mum and babies to settle for a few days first.
Ideally, you should remove the male...This will prevent another pregnancy (becoming pregnant again so soon after giving birth can seriously put the rabbit at risk) but it's likely the rabbit is already pregnant again, as they go into season just a few hours after giving birth.
You should also seperate the male from mum and the babies incase he accidently injures them.
Don't handle the babies much until they're about 5 days old, if its a big litter you'll need a bigger cage/runMy rabbit just had babies and i didnt know she was pregnant her cage is dirty?
You have to get the male out of there. Rabbits can become pregnant again very soon after birth. The babies need to be kept warm in a small box (but big enough for mom to get into to feed), and preferably not cardboard. OSB works well and a simple square box is all you need. you can research this on the web. I wouldn't clean the cage yet. Wait about five days. Don't handle the babies too much but do place them in a nest box and keep that clean. If mom hasn't pulled any of her fur to keep the babies warm, they need to have hay or other nest material in the box with them Mother rabbits only feed once a day. I wouldn't handle the babes for about 5 days except to move them into the nest box, then check once a day and remove any dead babies, otherwise just leave them be. We breed rabbits, don't be alarmed if she loses the litter.
they shouldn't be housed together for one, and for two that is too small of a cage for both *and* a litter. They may or may not make it...get the buck out of there and into a carrier or something for the night. Did the doe pull fur? The thing is now you're kinda stuck - it needs clean but changing too much with babies can result in her not tending to them. Either way it's 50-50 and less if the buck remains in there.
well, if the babies are still alive...it should be fine...however, babies happen if you keep a male %26amp; a female 2gether. you should have a separate boy cage for the boy %26amp; any baby boys when they get bigger %26amp; a mommy cage 4 all of the girls. if they are friendly you should be able to pick them up %26amp; move everybody around. they wont die from being handled.
get a bigger cage and keep the buck in the small one..you may be to late already..they never keep male and female rabbits together..unless you want the trouble of raising, feeding and housing lots of rabbits..she will have several litters a year..if you just want the two adults..then take the male to the vet and get him fixed...yep male rabbits like any male animal can be neutered..i use to raise meat rabbits..
and my daughter had fur rabbits..so i know what im talking about..give her a box with nesting material in it and maybe she might still pull fur..(cross your fingers) good luck
Well....id get a bigger cage. lol
